If you worked at least 4/5 for one or more other employers in the third quarter before your flexi-job, you meet the basic condition for a flexi-job in principle. You pay no tax on up to 18,440 euros of flexi-wage a year (income year 2026), but you do on the excess.
Many flexijobs in hospitality, retail or events are exactly at peak times. Perfect to combine with a day job.
As a retiree you can do flexi-work without the 4/5 condition, and the ceiling of 18,440 euros does not apply to you. If you are retired but have not reached the legal retirement age and do not have a career of 45 years, then from 2026 you can earn at most 8,121 euros a year with a flexi-job. This way you stay active and save some money.
