You pay no employee social security contributions on your flexi pay and, up to 18,440 euros (income year 2026), no tax either. You discuss the pay itself with the employer.

For every type of flexi worker
A flexi-job is for people who worked at least 4/5 in the third quarter before the start, or who are retired. We outline three situations.
You have your C driving licence and want to earn a bit extra at the weekend? Then check whether a flexi-job as a driver is available on our site. Whether a flexi-job is possible as a driver depends on the rules of the sector.
You already work full-time but want to do flexi work on Saturday or Sunday? Cafés and restaurants regularly look for waiters or dishwashers. You agree your weekends with the employer.
Without 4/5 employment, as a student you do not meet the condition for a flexi-job. As a student you may work 650 hours per year at reduced social contributions.
