A flexi-job is a way to earn extra alongside another job or your pension. But how do you get started, and how do you find a flexi-job near you? Below you can read how it works.
A flexi-job is an additional job you do as an employee alongside another job or your pension. Since 1 July 2026, a flexi-job has been possible in almost all sectors; whether it is possible for a given job depends on the rules of the sector. No employee contributions are due on your flexi-wage. On your flexi-wage, you only pay tax on what you earn above 18,440 euros a year (income year 2026), and that ceiling does not apply to retirees.
Not everyone can simply do a flexi-job. In principle, you must have worked at least 4/5 for one or more other employers in the third quarter before the flexi-job, or be retired. If you are a student or jobseeker without that 4/5, you do not meet the condition. In principle, you cannot combine a regular job and a flexi-job with the same employer. Your hourly wage depends on the sector and your position. Outside hospitality, your flexi-wage must at least match the pay scale for your position, and it may not be higher than 150% of the minimum sector wage there; hospitality has its own minimum and maximum. On top of your wage you receive 7.67% flexi holiday pay. You can read more on our page about flexi-job pay.

Do you only want to work at weekends or in the evening after your main job? Not every vacancy states the hours yet, so ask your job adviser at Experza.
You can also do a flexi-job if you are retired: the 4/5 condition does not apply to retirees, and neither does the ceiling of 18,440 euros. If you are retired but have not reached the legal retirement age and do not have a career of 45 years, then from 2026 you can earn at most 8,121 euros a year with a flexi-job. If you are retired, contact the Federal Pension Service beforehand, so you are sure your flexi-job does not affect the amount of your pension.
Your employer must declare you in Dimona. If you work through a temporary employment agency such as Experza, no separate framework agreement is needed. If you are not retired, keep track yourself of how much flexi-wage you earn per year: anything above 18,440 euros (income year 2026) is taxed. Questions about tax go to the FPS Finance.
