How do I apply for a flexi-job?

You don't apply for a flexi-job through a government service: you check yourself whether you qualify (at least 4/5 employed by another employer in the reference quarter, or retired), find an employer in an eligible sector, sign a written framework agreement there, and the employer makes the Dimona declaration before each shift. Then you can start working immediately.

Do I have to inform my main employer?

Legally that is not required, although your employment regulations may contain agreements about additional activities. You may remain discreet; you should avoid competing with your own employer anyway.

How quickly can I actually start?

As soon as you meet the conditions and the framework agreement is signed, your first shift can be as early as the same week. The Dimona declaration is done digitally and is immediately in order.

Can I flexi-job with multiple employers at the same time?

Yes, you may have framework agreements with as many employers as you want and combine shifts. Only with your own main employer it is never possible.

Applying for a flexi-job | Step-by-step from check to first shift

Step 1: check your conditions. Did you work at least 4/5 for another employer three quarters ago, or are you retired? Then you can do flexi-jobs. In doubt? Our conditions page lays it all out.

Step 2: find a shift that suits you. Through the job match you enter your municipality, sectors and availability; we connect you with employers who are looking. Also check the sectors for inspiration.

Step 3: sign the framework agreement. Before your first shift, you sign a written framework agreement with the employer containing the arrangements (position, pay, on-call rules). After that, an employment contract follows per period or per day.

Step 4: the employer arranges Dimona. Before each shift, the employer digitally declares your performance. You don't have to do anything for that; without that declaration you may not start, so a correct employer arranges this as standard.
