Support tasks in a residential care centre or hospital as a flexi-job: what you do, what you earn and how to start.
That depends on two things. You must in principle have worked at least 4/5 for one or more other employers in the third quarter before the flexi-job, or be retired. And since 1 July 2026, a flexi-job has been possible in almost all sectors; whether it is possible for a given job depends on the rules of the sector.
In a residential care centre or hospital, you can take on support tasks as a flexi-jobber, if the rules of the sector allow a flexi-job for that role.
The tasks you take on and your working hours depend on the vacancy.
First check on our page about the flexi-job conditions whether you meet the 4/5 condition or are retired. Then look at recent flexi-job vacancies from Experza on the homepage. Your flexi-wage must at least match the pay scale for your position, and it may not be higher than 150% of the minimum sector wage. On top of your wage you receive 7.67% flexi holiday pay. No employee contributions are due on your flexi-wage. On your flexi-wage, you only pay tax on what you earn above 18,440 euros a year (income year 2026), and that ceiling does not apply to retirees.
