Yes. Education is one of the sectors where flexi-jobs are permitted. You meet the usual conditions (work at least 4/5 for another employer, or be retired) and your flexi pay is paid net according to the sectoral pay scale.
Since the sectoral expansion, flexi-jobs are also possible in education, and from 1 July 2026 even in all services of local authorities, such as municipal schools. Schools mainly look for support outside teaching duties: supervision, administration and childcare.
The busiest times: school days during lunch and after school hours; extra demand during school fairs and enrolment periods. That's exactly when shifts are most plentiful and pay often exceeds the minimum.
Your flexi pay follows the sectoral pay scale for the role, and that amount is net for you: no taxes or social contributions, up to the annual ceiling of €18,440 (2026 amount; retirees have no ceiling). Teachers themselves can also do a flexi-job outside their own school, for example in another sector or with another school board, as long as they meet the 4/5 condition.
